Never used anything but the real stuff. the BP loads that works best for me are 42grn of Goex 2ffg and 38grn of Swiss 2ffg. in my shiloh. (Its almost sacralige to me to use anything but the real stuff) but Some one gave me 2 lbs of the RS. Will never buy any more and want to use this up for practice. W/o haveing to do a lot of testing and using it all up doing so. Whats a good starting point With goex to swiss I droped 10% and it worked out. seams 10% work in all my Guns Musket, carbine ,henry, and pistols.

I can't help with a by weight load, but be sure to compress the stuff. A lot!

And then clean your gun 3 days in a row. I'm not kidding either.

Let me know how it worked for you. I had a large number of misfires in my 1859 Infantry rifle.

I suspect this was due to the higher ignition temp and too many corners in the ignition path. With black powder ignition is 100% reliable.
