Anybody get a 63 sporter with the 14 or 16 lb barrel? I'd like to hear your thoughts.
Thanks

I have a 1863 Sporter with a 30 inch 16 pound barrel in .54 caliber, one of the last rifles built by Wolfgang Droege around 1990. It is chambered for 90 grains and is a wonderful shooting gun. Fairly accurate, I have no problem keeping 100 yard groups in about two inches, meaning it shoots better than I do.....
Recoil is minimal. Good luck with nitrated paper cartridges. Owned it several years, would hate to part with it.
