148 Years Ago Today

http://militaryhistory.about.com/od/ame ... buford.htm

Buford's cavalry were armed with Sharps carbines, and though outnumbered, they held against a superior Confederate force of infantry until John Reynolds' First Corps. Buford's foresight and his men's tenaciousness helped to prevent a general defeat of Union forces on the first day of the battle at Gettysburg.
When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.
