New to me 1863

Post by tljack »

I am very excited! I was able to buy and original 1863 Sharps today in very good condition. It has been convered to 50-70, but even so it is a dandy! Hope to get some rounds loaded up and try it out on Wednesday. I have a friend who is a Sharps collector and gunsmith who says it will be fine to shoot it.

Congratulations on your find and get ready for the grin! :D
I had gotten possession of a big "50" gun early in the fight, and was making considerable noise with it.

Thanks! I already have a big grin. I am guessing it will shoot real good as the bore looks like a mirror.

Congratulations! They are a hoot to shoot. I have a Shiloh 16 lb 54 Cal that I have owned for several years, and it is a blast. Have fun!
