Mate, I would suspect that the mold has three different sized driving bands. The original 'ringtail' has this feature to allow the bullet to seat in chambers of various size I believe.

You will find that the band closest to the base will be the larger one, and then the other two towards the top of the projectile will be a smaller size. Hence the nickname of the 'Christmas Tree', it looks a little like one I guess, in lead.
