Does this tool work on freeing stuck floating chambers on antique Sharps percussion rifles? I've got an 1853 Sporting with a stuck floating chamber.

My 1863's do not have a floating chamber so I really do not know how they work. I am guessing yours is a repro? Anyway, the guys always seems to say to use Kroil. Stuff in front of the chamber and let it sit for a few days or weeks and see what happens? Best guess. Good Luck.

i got one from taylors,..took half a lifetime to get it,..but it did work,had to soak it in kroil for a couple days,but it finally let go,..the key is to keep it clean and lubricated

it is called a bushe, and all 63's had them.
I'd like to get mine out, but don't want to mess with the original....I'll try soaking as noted in kroil, but don't think I'll do the tool...

I could do a sero safe chamber cast....then pop it out from the front. stuck broken shells pop out with this idea.

ok.. talked myself into the $15 for the Taylors tool. I'll let you know how it works.
I'm soaking the 63 original carbine in Kroil while I wait. don't intend to shoot it, but I have to try it for the short money.
