Gas Check Plate - Grease ?

Post by Frank »

When they say to remove the gas check plate, clean it and grease it, what kind or type of grease is the best to use. The gas plate fits tight and took a small screw drive on both sides to remove it. Do you use the same grease on the nipple?

Frank,

I use a very light coat of Bore Butter or something like that.

This is the reply given to me by Kirk on the same subject.

"Hi, everything sounds good, go to your local auto store and buy some anti- sieze, put this on the threads and around the gas plate surface that slides in the block. This will make for easy disassembly after shooting, the black powder tends to lock up these parts. Don't worry about the screw that goes through the link. Thanks Kirk"
