has anyone had a armi sport 1859 berdan? i am planning on buying one i would love to have a shiloh just out of my price range

Please don't consider this sour grapes but there have been a lot of problems with the Armi Sport guns. I had a 1863 musket and the internal parts were bery soft.

You might post your question on the N-SSA board about the Sharps.

I don't think it is the problem it used to be, but I would not buy one unless you can get it through a very picky importer who hand selects them or unless you can see it and feel it yourself.

I have owned a couple Armi-Sport rifled muskets as well as a Sharps Berdan and they have held up extremely well. The trigger pull on the double set triggered Berdan is excellent and has not gotten sticky in the several years I have owned it.

The suggestion to ask around on a re-enactor web site is a good one.
