mold for farmer Shilo

Post by OLD CHIEF »

Hi
Do any of you 63 shooters have any pointers on a mold for my 63 carbine Shilo sharps? The ready made bullets I have been using in my old IAB, key hole in the Shilo. I will need to make my own and they will have to be at least .543 or .544 if my miking is correct.
Thanks

Bill,

I suggest a Rapine ringtail mold. They throw the bullets large, about .547 to .549 but they shoot well in my carbine.

I had two for mine one was a 475 grain pointed ring tail that was tapered .527 at the first band .537 on the second and .547 on the base band then the reduced band.
That mould went with the rifle when I sold it.
I still have the second mould that casts a flat nosed bullet I used for hunting and a darn good shooter in the 63 it cast a 525 grain pure lead bullet with the same dimensions.
I got the moulds from Cabela's
