From what I've seen, a good military rifle should be worth between $1000 and $1400, especially if it has a patch box. Many N-SSA members look for good used rifles but they must have the patch box to use in competition.

I know of a good gunsmith that can add a patchbox to any Shiloh fast!
He's located in Virginia....

Value of Farmer

Buzzard

Something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Frequently, '63 persussion rifles go begging as it is definitely a niche market. It is also moot as to whether a Farmingdale rifle holds more value than one made in Montana.

If you think it so, then it does.

I own rifles made in both locations and they are all excellent products.

How things have changed.

I paid $400.00 for my Farmingdale back in 1981; and that was when "Zouave" rifles were going for $150.00.
