CAL. SUGGESTION

Post by Beck »

WILL BE ORDERING MY SECOND SHILOH, THE FIRST BEING A NO. 1 SPORTERIN 45-70. I AM GOING WITH EITHER A HARTFORD IN 45-90 OR 50-90. THIS ONE WILL BE MORE FOR HUNTING THAN THE RANGE. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Beck,
50-90...50-90...50-90...50-90...45-110...50-90...45-110...50-90...did I mention a 50-90 or 45-110 for hunting. The cool factor outweighs all the practical suggestions of the other calibers. Maybe one of each!!

Based on the choices you gave....Hartford 50-90 with heavy barrel and steel shotgun butt!
I had gotten possession of a big "50" gun early in the fight, and was making considerable noise with it.

Beck:

According to one of my previous post, if you already have a 45-70, you can re-use some of your reloading equipment if you choose the 45-110. Some people mention that they feel the 45-110 waste powder, but for me, by the time you buy a nice Shiloh and all the other things who cares about the powder. IMHO The 45-110 has THE BEST "Coolness" factor.

Let us know what you decide and why!

Heck, even I concur!

Thinking about ordering me up one of those big forty fives too! Hear tell they shoot a might further than my fifty!
