"Hand Picked" wood selection

Post by Texas Shooter »

To all:

When someone chooses the "hand picked wood". Who does the picking? Do you just add it to what ever grade of wood you select?

Can someone who orders the presentation grade of wood, select their own?

Do you have a choice of Fiddleback vs Burl vs. Marbleing?

Is the walnut Black, English, Turkish or Italian or ?

Thanks,

Good morning Sir, I just copied your questions and put the answer right under them.

When someone chooses the "hand picked wood". Who does the picking? Do you just add it to what ever grade of wood you select?

----- Usually the customer hand picks his own wood, but if you order hand select, then I do it, the wood will be the upper end of the catagory ordered.

Can someone who orders the presentation grade of wood, select their own?

------ Yes.

Do you have a choice of Fiddleback vs Burl vs. Marbleing?

------ Yes, depending on what's in house.

Is the walnut Black, English, Turkish or Italian or ?

----- We have never used Italian, but all of the rest are common. When it comes to Turkish, I prefer you send your own piece in, due to the fact it is quite costly, and you may not like what I like.

I hope this information is helpful, Thanks Kirk

I'm planning to put my final order in during the Safari Show in Dallas on January 10th.

I will be ordering the presentation grade wood on my rifle. Will this meeting give us the opportunity to "pick" wood? I particulary like well marbled wood.

Let me know how best to utilize our time together.

Can I get Length of Pull measured at this time?

Thanks,

I hate to tell you this, but I am not going to that show. I have to stay home and get some caught up work done so as to leave for Reno to SCI. My sister and mom will be there and I have sent several different grades of wood, all black walnut though. Make sure you have them put on your order the type of wood you want. See Ya later, thanks. What are the dates and location for the Safari Show in Dallas? I would like to avoid the weekend traffic if possible. My one Shiloh Sharps is out numbered by five Martini's. She needs company, as in 45-110.

Tha safari show is the weekend of the 10th of January or next weekend!!

I believe it to be at Market Hall in Dallas. Off of I-35 north.

There is probably a web address for it. When I get the time I'll look for it.

I hope I can meet some of you there.

Who's planning on being there other than me?

Looks like I'll be going Saturday. I'm leaning toward a Hartford, but is too early to tell. I too, would like to select my own wood. May see you there.

I'm looking at a Hartford also for my first Shiloh. (45-70) I will probably be there in the early afternoon.

I would like to meet some people locally that want to shoot, develope some good loads, etc.

I will look for you. I think Scott (aka. Tejas Raz) will be there at some point during the show.
