Recoil Fiqures?

Post by Dan »

Anyone here have a general idea as to the recoil energy in ft.lbs of the following cartridges in a 12 pound Shiloh? I realize velocity, mass of projectile, and other mitigating variables need to come into play . . .I just want a "general" idea of what they are as a point of reference . . .

I do know that a 45-70 using smokeless and a 405 projectile is around 17.2 ft.lbs and a 12 gauge shotgun with 2 3/4s 1 1/8th shot is a wee bit more at 18 to 19 ft.lbs

Surely someone has got the software to run some numbers on . . .

45-70?

45-90?

45-100?

45-110?

50-70?

50-90?

Thanks a bunch!
