I've had good luck with about 500 grain bullets from a Rapine Christmas Tree ring tail and a Brooks "Charlie Hahn" mold, along with Charlie's Tubes. both bullets fit the tube perfectly. I've found using tubes or loose powder, accuracy and point of impact are the same. Jay Y.

Jon, I'm using 777 fff now, 45 grains by weight in a 1 3/4" "Charlie Tube" or poured directly over bullet in the chamber. Very accurate when I do my part with both bullets. I've gotten 2" 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Loading direct or with "tubes" point of impact is the same. When using black I used 70 grains by volume in 2" "tubes" or directly into the chamber. Both loads are quite stout in my sporter. Using 777 has allowed me to fire 60 rounds with no binding whatsoever, as long as I kept the chamber clean. 60 rounds was all I had with me at the time. Had a hard time getting 8 rounds with black. To each his own.
