40X2.1"SBN

Post by Rob A. »

Hello:
Got the cerrosafe the other day and started to experiment with the chamber and bore casting process. As near as I can figure the 2.1" is the proper length, the neck is .620 in length and the bore diameter is .409. So I have the dimensions needed to buy a mould for casting. Does anybody have adresses on either Brooks ,Saeco or whoever makes a good quality mould. I am open to suggestions from the forum on what would suit me best. I will be using for sillouete and hunting posiibly long range to possibly 800yds.Also will Goex ffg work in this cartridge? Thanks for any input.

Paul Jones Moulds www.pauljonesmoulds.com

A lot of guys shooting 40's are using Pauls 420 grain creedmore. Very knowledgeable, and a reputation for making the best moulds period. Cerrosafe apparently will continue to expand over time giving a reading that is larger than the barrel diameter at some point. That was a comment that Paul made. Good shootin!
