Mercury Recoil Reducers

Post by KHR »

Hi all,
I have a Sharps replica that is too light, I would like to install one of the brako mercury recoil reducers in the butstock. My question is: at what angle do I install the reducer, Is it in-line with the stock? or Is it in-line with the barrel, or in line with the recoil?

thanks
:-)

when i installed my c & h mercury reducer they recomend in line with the barrel be carefull not to drill out your stock too thin and put a little silcone at the head and toe of your reducer so it don't beat your stock apart on the inside.good luck

well jagg it does help and i would do it again in a heart beat on a hard kicker on my 45 2 7/8 with military but plate it was not plesant with out it.now i can shoot 10 or more shots before my sholder gets sore but for long strings i still use my rand pad.i tryed a 12 ga shotgun with a reducer installed and it sold me on it.
be good.

Installed a factory mfg'd mercury recoil kit on my Nova, (plastic 12ga) that will shoot 3 1/2" mags. Sorry, with that light weight, not much help. However, BA's Rand Elite Recoil shield (shoulder pad) works great on the 11+lb Sporter in 45-70.

Ive got the reducer installed. It does make a difference, not a huge amount. rifle is definately steadier.
