A couple of weeks ago I ordered a Shiloh Sharps. I placed an ordef for a Hartford model (military buttstock, pewter tip, and Hartford collar) in 45-70. I ordered the heavy barrel, standard case hardened finish, and the standard wood. I was trying to get the "typical" late Hartford rifle that might have been used on the Great Plains to hunt bison. I will use this rifle to hunt with and to use at informal target shooting at the range. I cannot wait for my rifle to arrive. I would like to thank this forum for your suggestions on what would be a good first Sharps. Now I have to learn how to reload these beasts. My reloading experience to this point has been mainly .357 and .38 calibers. Thanks again for all your help!
