45 70

Post by ffffgdave@yahoo.com »

45 70 has lots of advantages over the other calibers.. and i doubt youll notice much killing difference as the bullet will pr0bably pass thru.. the big plus of the 45 70 is you can buy over the counter cast bullets from several makers, and this gives you more shooting time if your not into casting or cant afford casting gear right away.. .. some guys spent 100 hours loading in order to shoot three hours. some guys spend three hours loading to shoot 100 hours for instance in huntingsituations.. the 45 70 will do it all , the neigbor will be able to help you reload it if not the local gun shop will be able to.. when yhou get into 50 70 ( a very fine gun ive never even seen one) youl be looking all over the place for moulds, brass, dies, and probably special ordering 50 cal pilot for a trimmer, i dont know.. thats fine too, but for starters the 45-70 will be a lot less frustrating if you have a personal slow learning curve.. if the chalange is what its all about, then take your pick.. there is no wrong answer here, but they say the 45-70 is a good beginners gun for good reasons.. dave.
