Rick.

That is a great picture. I would like to frame it if it's OK with you and hang it on the Gypsy Wagon if I can find wall space for it.

Good work!

Thanks Kurt! I would autograph the picture at no charge  It would make a good dart board in the Gypsy House:)

Your tip on slumping bullets stopped the leading in the Loomer. Snowdrift bullets explain things pretty well!

It's a deal :D

Nah the Gypsy wagon is to confined for a good dart target  besides Carol would pull the darts and stick them in my hinder if I put holes in the walls

Good job Rick. I hope it was a planned hunt and not a fence jumper.

Kurt, I could see Carol doing!

Yea it was my first planned hunt, pretty fun actually. I had my videographer and cameralady with me, so I couldn't miss ...........or she would have said you don't need any more guns till you can shoot the ones you have  Doris got some pics of Brutus after the shot and did well until Brutus started making a deliberate beeline at us and she said I am getting out of here.....and she did

Your spotting for me at the BRT shoot paid off, it was a one shot in the heart at 200 yards by the rangefinder.

Smart Gal  I know what Carolyn's reaction was when Ole Brutus started shaking his head sideways.

I'm glad you took the time doing this.

Remember what I said....beware of the man with one rifle and load.

Well done Rick, nice shot at extended barrel sight range. Rick can stay with anybody with barrel irons. When I was down there in Jan. after we were done with getting my cow, we did some target shooting the next day. IIRC I asked Rick to bring his Loomer gun(named after it's chamber being cut with Orville's tight reamer duplicating the originals) along for the target session. He laughed and owed up to being out of ammo for it with no time to load any back then. I laughed and told him I had plenty and what works in one Loomer chamber will work well in another cut with the same reamer. So he brought his Loomer and we used my ammo. We were shooting 200 yds offhand at his buffalo gong with a 8" white bullseye where the heart lays and Rick was in the white 3/3 with 4.5" group. Offhand guys. He regularly shoots that rifle with std barrel sights and knows them well to 400 yds and beyond. One of Rick's current projects is trying to convince Buzz Coker and the guys up north for a all bp used, barrel sight class. Once again congrats Rick on that buff. Get the robe done also. bobw

Thanks guys! The Mt. Roughrider does have some beautiful wood.......always nice to have a rifle that shoots as good as it looks. My wife got a few photos and here is one of me just prior to the shot. The buff I took was second from the left. Even at 200 yards they were starting their skee-daddle out of there. I did a sneak up the backside of a hill and just parked on the rim of the hill.

Notice the front blade sight just peeping above the cross stick. Might have to blow the pic up to see it well. Even though it was a cloudy day it still picked up the light well and showed up nicely against the buff. It is the standard Shiloh full buckhorn rear and front blade. Did filing on the rear including filing a notch into the bottom of the ladder with the slide up for the 200 yard setting. Also did some file work on the front blade. I prefer a flat as opposed to rounded.

The duster makes for good photos but serves well as a disguise. Sometime the buff will mistake a single hunter wearing one as another buff if you keep crouched down.
