With my 2003 Shiloh Quigley .45-110 my best groups (1.22 MOA) at 200 yd. come with 95 gr. Swiss 1.5F compressed 2/10" under a 0.060" plastic wad and 564 gr. 30:1 postel bullet from my Brooks mold. Question: How far should my bullet travel before engaging the rifleing? My loads have been 3.62 C.O.L.

I was always told it should be touching or slightly engaged...... or use paper patch and seat the bullet .080-.100 in the case

You should be using FG powder, at least 20-1 alloy, that bullet is a tad heavy in an 18 twist. I use two wads as the 110 really kicks the bullet in the Ass. 16-1 is better yet and two wads, I use 3 myself.

Fouling control is paramount to accuracy.
