Globe sight ID
I need to order an insert card for this globe, didn't come with any when I purchased the rifle, kind of hard to shoot that way! Not sure if the inserts are all same size or not.

Re: Globe sight ID
What brand of rifle is it on? More specifically, what is the dovetail size of the sight. If it is 3/8, it is more than likely a Pedersoli front sight. The retaining tab and knurling on the knobs doesn't look like an MVA to me.

Re: Globe sight ID
That's a MVA #113 sight.
Go to the MVA site and you'll see.

I agree with Gary, it sure looks like an MVA to me. I have one of their windage front sights. Love the sight, but detest the springy thing that holds the insert.

Wish they'd mark them someplace so you wouldn't have to guess!

Re: Globe sight ID
I made a traditional scabbard for my Sharps and had trouble with the spring catching on the way out. Ended up wrapping electricians tape around sight to solve the problem

Re: Globe sight ID
I have a traditional leather scabbard that I made for one of my flintlocks that will fit but haven't tried it yet, the little spring on top seems to be bent down enough for it not to catch but will see.

It’s an MVA 113 Globe Sight. If you move the spring to the left or right from center, you will see a small hole in the top of the sight. That hole is for an Allen wrench to access the set screw that holds the sight in the dove tail. Loosen the Allen screw, remove the sight, and it will be marked MVA along with the dove tail size on the bottom of the sight. Call 406-388-4027 to order inserts. 114-200 B insert card.
Hope this helps,
Tom

Re: Globe sight ID
Tomklinger, thank you very much, the front dove tail is or should be 450 since this is on a Shiloh. But when I get home I'll take a look like you've said to be sure. Thanks again

Re: Globe sight ID
The MVA front sight #115-116 are my preferred front sight as they don’t have the catch all spring clip and a lower profile, they do have a different insert card than the 111’s .
