I like my Kimber 1911 in 45 ACP...but I found that Kimber has made a 22 lr conversion kit for their 1911 Pistols.
Do any of you have experience with the kit??

I've never seen a Kimber kit Glen. Are they interchangeable with the Colt Ace ? I'd much prefer a Woodsmen four inch match.

I have been given 4000 large pistol Primers, 1300 rounds of brass, several pounds of powder, dies, and a Kimber 1911 in 45 acp. I like it, my bud wanted me to be set up in 45 when he passed away I guess. I have a few thousand 22 lr set back and want some easy shooting practice with THAT pistol shooting 22 lr ammo.

Glenn,
I have one. It fits without any trouble onto my Kimber 1911. It's not a tack driver like my High Standard, but it does quite well. It is a little picky on ammo. Federal match seems to work the best with Federal Auto Match a close second. I don't have any other full size frame 1911's to try it on. My Colt Commander and Officer's have slightly different frame sizes. Extra Mags were available online. Mine originally came with two aluminum mags but the current plastic ones work just fine.

Re: Kimber 1911 22lr Conversion kit
I have the Kimber .22 conversion for my 1911 as well. Cannot get any ammo to be reliable in it. Doesn't like low velocity, doesn't like high velocity.
So it gets the most use in 9mm.
