I got to the range today with my Remington split breech carbine to test a reloaded 1864-1865 vintage C.D. Leet made .56-50 rimfire cartridge. The case was cleaned out and annealed. Then the rim was reprimed and the original 155 year old powder was put back in. A new bullet, almost an exact duplicate of the original was then seated and crimped in place. Then out to the range with the split breech and the chronograph
