Dry patch container on the market?

Post by opencountry »

Awhile back here on the forum I read something about an applicator of sorts that dry patches for wiping were stored/kept in at the range to prevent the wind from blowing them away while shooting I need to come up with something because I’m always worrying about my open container jar of dry patches going airborne. Any ideas would be really appreciated. The really windy season has just begun here in SE WA State. BTW, I use 3” square patches.

Oencountry You are looking for a patch popper they were sold by Paul Huard aka moezingo. I believe he sold out his supply and was not going to make any more. Search patch popper and you should find a picture that was posted here a while back. Hope this helps.

There was a vendor set up at the "Q" that made his pop up patch dispenser from square tubing for the guys that cut their own. Just do not recall his name.....unfortunately.

Sounds good; I’m going to try and make my own. I’ll install a light-tension spring under an inside moveable plate to keep some tension on the patches, cap both ends with square caps, cut an opening to fill and remove individual patches. Thanks for the idea! It sounds doable. :D

Tom,

I believe Paul is still making the Patch Popper's. See the very recent thread below. BTW, I've been using one for several years and it's great.
