annealing machine
Can anyone tell me what happened to Ballistic Edge Annealing? Seems to have disappeared.

Re: annealing machine
All I can say is they were no longer in business when I updated my article on annealing on 2/3/21.

I had included them in the previous edition back in 2014.

Re: annealing machine
I've just corresponded with Stefan at AGS Custom and he is still cranking them out. He said he has had to up the price just a little since last year but I still think it is a bargain. I see that he has 1 left of 14 he listed on eBay for $295.

Re: annealing machine
What does ABS Custom have to do with Ballistic Edge Annealing? Unless I'm mistaken Ballistic Edge Annealing machines were made in the USA. The completely different ABS Custom annealers are imported from Serbia.

Re: annealing machine
Todays after work project is to anneal 750 pieces of new 45-90 Starline brass. Luckily, I have a Vertex. Running two torches it takes just under 3.5 seconds each. Should be done with the whole batch in about an 45 minutes if I don’t stop for a break.

Re: annealing machine
w50-70,
I obviously incorrectly read the intent of your comment. If you've got one of the AGS Custom annealers I'd like to hear your opinion of it. I intend to include it when updating my article on annealers. Thanks.

Re: annealing machine
Just ran 675 cases thru a Bench Source annealing machine in less than 2 hours. Does a great job.

Re: annealing machine
Glenn,
That sounds about right. I also have a Bench Source annealer & anneal after each firing. It takes no more than 10 minutes to setup & anneal 60 Rem. 40-65 cases using one torch cranked fully open. The cases are in the flame 4.8 seconds which was determined by using 750° Tempilaq applied inside the case necks.
