Barrel rechambering
I have at present a couple Shilo sharps rifles, both in 45/70, and have been considering having one of them rechambered in 45/110 and my question is to those who may have had this done, and it is, when they rechamber to a longer caliber, do they make a change to the caliber stamping on the barrel, or leave it as stamped originally. Thank you for any answers, Wes.

I had my #3 45-70 extended to 45 2.6. Kirk stamped it 45 2.6 near the original stamping.

Re: Barrel rechambering
The Sharps Rifle Company back in the 1870's used to run out 45-2.1" chambers to 45-2 7/8" and 40-70 2.25" sbn to 40-90 2 5/8" sbn. For a dollar or 2. You didn 't really think McDonald's invented "super sizing" did you?...bobw

Re: Barrel rechambering
We will completely re stamp and blue or just put the new calibre next to the old one as the original company used to do.
