Kenny
I think that is just an awesome idea for a match Really hope it turns out well.
Would love to shoot in something like that.
Our own Match that weekend would preclude my attending.

well that and the following:

In light of your recent comment

I am truly saddened by this unfortunate event, we as a group need to be a touch more kinder to each other, and embrace the particular individuals that compromise this forum.

I really think you need to think about your comments to Kurt for a sec.
Yes he may have touched a nerve and its your match, but your response was way out of line.
I don;t know what got Glen kicked off of here but it must have been way worse than that ????
Or was it

Brain he opened the ball. The bench remark was a direct jab. When I shoot prone is extremely painful.

My premise is to keep everyone shooting, his is to exclude. I made a offer of peace his was to start a shit storm.

He got exactly what he deserved.

Brian,

Sorry about the name misspelled.

Obviously it touched a nerve with you also always good to know who is your friend and who isn’t.

Thanks, you definitely won’t be one.

Btw,

To everyone, I wasn’t soliciting criticism of something that will take a lot of hard work to accomplish,

Years of hard work and no small amount of funds out of my own pocket. I am not a club.

I was announcing the event to memorialize our unique shooting history. A similar event to be shot on paper in 2024 with special designed paper targets and pits back east. I applaud their efforts, they plan on shooting it all prone with the requirements of shooting unsupported. Instead of criticism on my event, I suggest those who have, they attend that event. But they won’t, they make excuses.

Consider the character of those who choose to criticize my efforts to remember our shooting history. And couldn’t refrain from doing so.

Their statements should tell you everything you need to know.

I have to agree with Kenny. If he made it so cross sticks, benches, wrist rests, etc, were illegal, who the heck would shoot it? I know I am among the younger shooters, and I don't want to shoot without them. Further, Kurt knew exactly what he was doing and is the real jerk here, not Kenny.

Kenny is putting together an awesome way to celebrate the anniversary of the first Creedmoor matches, and it will be really fun to shoot it on re-creations of the original targets. Yahoo Kenny! I really hope it works out I can attend. Thank you for all your hard work, my friend.

No Kenny it didn't touch a nerve with me.
I think what you're doing is great.
I just remembered what you had said on Jim's thread.
I look in the paper and see people younger than us dying all the time.
Just trying to appreciate the time we are allowed here.
Take care
Brian.

Kurt wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 6:52 pm Shooting a 150th anniversary Creedmoor match setting up original targets is great but it would be interesting to shoot the match without those crutches like a bench of all things or cross sticks.
Since I stuck my foot in this, Kurt, I didn't read this part very carefully. After rereading it I can understand what upset him. I may not agree with his wording, But this comment was uncalled for too.
