Questions About Private Message System

I'm relatively new here, and learning the ropes.

I tried to send a Private Message with a question to kirk, but the message landed in my "Outbox" instead of the "Sent" folder. I don't know what this means. Can someone explain? Maybe I need to have a specified minimum number of posts before I can send messages (?).

It stays in the outbox until Kirk opens it. That way you can tell when somebody actually gets the message.

I did find a response in the Inbox this afternoon, so all is well.
