Info on Farmingdale 1874 Military SRC

Post by Daltond »

I recently acquired this Carbine, and i am just curious as to what information i can find about it.
It is marked
Shilih Rifle Mfg Co.
Farmingdale, NY
On the left side of the receiver.
Serial number is
36xx
Barrel is marked
"Old Reliable"
Calibre 45
2 1/10.
Barrel is blued, and all other metal is Case Colored.
No other markings that I can discern, anywhere on it.
Any information would be appreciated as to when this was Manufactured, and general info of any kind.

I think the records are skinny on Farmingdale guns. In your place I'd pick up the phone dial up Shiloh ask for Lucinda she will have some answer for you.

I spoke with Lucinda yesterday.
I have read most, if not all if the posts here that refer to Farmingdale manufactured rifles.
From my serial number, 36xx I am guessing a manufacture date around 1979 or so.

Not much help, but my Farmingdale Business Rifle no. 10xx was made in 77-78, according to Wolfgang Droege.
