45-110 case length

Post by CaptnJack »

Hi all. I cut down about 150 new cases that were 45-120 making them into 45-110. I have cut them down so far to around 2.289 would like to know what should the final trim be 2.870 or more or less? Using a 535 gr two diameter PP bullet.
Thanks.

Cut them as close to actual chamber length as possible. My brass does not seem to move with patched bullets.

I wouldn't trim them any more until you shoot them. I start with the 2.88" long Norma brass and after shooting them a couple of times they are pretty much right on, maybe a tiny bit of trimming required.

I got my PP load from Kenny W and he told me 2.880 and it works.

Given they may shorten a bit with the first firing, I'd not do a final trim until they've made a trip through the chamber.

I started to do that, but the case wall.was thicker where I was going to cut them, than the mouth of a regular case was.
