I shoot a bit of informal "gong" shoots but, shoot mid and long range target mainly

My greatest ambition is to win at the Quigley and as well as the Big Hill match at Baker Mt. Alliance Neb. is also a good shoot.
The Quigley and the Big Hill shoot I feel that your up against some hard holders that finish high at most matches they attend and when I see their names under mine or under them with a lower tie breaker at the end I feel like doing hand stands and dancing a jig.
Both shoots the format are the same for everyone on line and your hear the grumbling when the dust kicks up instead of hearing that Klang. :D
Some say the paper matches are the tough and they are tough but at the end the competition is just as tight. You're shooting side by side under the same format and rules. A winner is a winner be it irons or paper.
As far as calibers. I started with a .40-70 then the .50-90 and several .45's and 44's and now I'm starting with the .38's I have two now and if all goes well I will use that little shooter next year.

Well, actually got to shoot the 40-60 Maynard last night. Nothing too exciting, was only shooting at 150 yards but wow was that an accurate rifle.

My .40-60 Maynard is slightly more accurate than my .40-65 WCF.

I believe the straighter walled case results in bullets being a bit more concentrically aligned.
