It’s going to get close to single digits by the weekend here then everybody gets a blast of winter.

Unfortunately we are headed in the other direction currently. Yesterday here we managed over 96 F. A bit cooler for the next few days but its clear summer is arriving a little earlier this year. The lack of rain is more of an issue though. I look forward to the photos of snow covered backyards to help me stay cool on the inside at least .

Was 110F when I went through Phoenix last Friday afternoon.

I was almost anticipating a 'return of service' Zack... earlier even. Yes the 110 f is where we'll likely be in short order also. Nearly 700 mm of rain to this time last year and now we are at 388 mm (25/26 mm to the inch. ) for the same timeline with no big falls anticipated . That's the scary part. Snow still holds a magical/ mythical quality for a lot of Aussies I think. Its just so far removed from our frame of reference. Now the heat.. well , that we have in common to a greater or lesser degree

ps. I do believe I've been guilty of shooting at the odd discarded piece of white goods in land fill areas too. Though I gave up when I couldnt get a group

Yessir Brian, just reminding people that want us to move the Desert International to the early fall what that may mean and more or less the same weather conditions can begin in April, so for comfort we have a very narrow window of survivable weather in the Sonoran Desert. I laugh when someone suggests Sept, which can have ten or more days of temps over 100F. Even 90F can be tough on those mystic travelers not accustomed to functioning in those temps in single digit humidity.

BTW, shuffling through the entry forms for the January 2024 Match I do not find yours. If you are too busy just send me the check and I will fill it out for you.
