My 1877 weighs an even 12 pounds. It has a 32 in round barrel, steel buttplate and MVA base with XLR rear sight. It also has a 112 front sight.

You may know this already but the 77 won’t qualify for the “original style” class. If you want to shoot a sharps it will have to be an 1874. There will be an “open class” where you will be able to use the 77.

I've never shot in those matches, but don't see a reason the 1877 isn't legal. It's from the period, and my understanding is that it was created to allow a heavier barrel in the Creedmoor-type matches than the 1874. The match excerpt doesn't mention any reason I can see why it should not be legal.

Actually, the only ones that were were in the original match were the ‘74 Sharps Creedmoor and the Remington Creedmoor….
I have one of the Original Sharps Creedmoor rifles that was issued to the American Team by John P. Moore’s Sons, Gun and sporting good dealers of New York City, in April 1874. C54096, the first Creedmoor to leave the factory was C54092…
I will most likely use that rifle for the match.

My understanding is that only rifles that were used in the original match will be allowed. For sharps that would be the model 1874. He may allow the 77 I’m not sure. I asked and have not gotten a good answer yet. For sure the 77 cAn be used for the “open class” but I don’t think they will be allowed for the “original class”

Out of curiosity what's allowed in open class? I searched the Creedmoor 150 group page and couldn't find anything on using a 77 or what's allowed in open class. I do have a 74 Hartford in 50-90. Not ideal.
