Letfly,
the JIM371310E mold can be ordered from Buffalo Arms. It will be listed as "out of stock" , but
they are kind of "made to order". In fact, you can order diameters to suit your particular barrel/chamber.
Paper patch bullets are being used more and more in BPCR, including the DDEPP designs.
There are also grease groove bullets that have front bands reduced to bore ride, and so you can seat them out.

Re: 38-55 twist
Lefty,
Arnie designed that bullet for my and another gentleman's 38-55. I have shot that pretty well out to the ram line, and at 600yd gong shoots. Last year I shot it at the Quigley and only got 7 hits at the buffalo.
My load as follows:
Jim371310E cast from 16+1 they come out at 300-301gr
Strathmoor 55w paper
55.5gr of Swiss 1.5F
Fed LP primer
.060 poly wad
starline 2.125 cases
If you'd like I can, send you a few wrapped up so you can try them out.

Re: 38-55 twist
If any 38cal & 35cal shooters are going to Raton for the BPCR Nationls this July, we plan to use our scores for an unofficial 38/35cal "side match". Winner takes home bragging rights plus everything it cost you to enter the side match (nothing). No blunderbuses (40cal & larger) allowed .

Re: 38-55 twist
Not sure, Ive never really looked into it. I just let the target tell me its accurate and went with it. If I had to guess, its in the 1300fps range. It is in a newly made Winchester Highwall Traditional Hunter. Barrel length is 28in, twist is 1 in 15.

Re: 38-55 twist
The 38 cal side match sounds like fun. Is it for all 4 matches or will you seperate? I shoot 38-50 for one discipline and 45-90 for the other.
