Basic brass at 2 3/4 Length?
Just purchased a long range express in 45-110.
1. I am looking for 45-110 brass. Everywhere is sold out. Any available here?
2. Green box rcbs new basic brass came with the rifle.. 8 rounds. It is 2 3/4" long. It "appears" uncut but I dont' know for sure. What
length is this for or will this work safely in my 45-110? Want to shoot black powder only.
All info is appreciated!

45-110 is 2-7/8 long, not 2-3/4

You're looking at 2.750 vs 2.875" so its not 'insignificant' at over 1/10" difference. If you're desperate to fire rounds.. you'll probably answer your own question..and a lot depends on how long the bullet is you plan on using as it 'may' allow you some latitude to seat it further out. The pm's sent will likely clear up some grey areas. There are often some big variations in length even in brass marked for the chambering though .125" is getting fairly generous. It's currently 8 cases you have vs the unknown quantity you dont. 'If' you load them, load for the chambering..ie. overall length with bullet seated out that fraction, to take up the space. It may leave a lube groove exposed ( gg or pp ? ) but that's not likely to be an issue. Hopefully someone here can put you in touch with some cases of the correct length. BACo perhaps or Bertram ?

Hey J B, spot on, allways a chance of paper rings with short brass but not problematic of the same with greasers. Years a go I bought some 45-2 3/4" basic brass brand new in boxes. Figured they would be great in the 40-90 2 5/8" sbn (2.625) but haven't formed any yet. Baco uses starline 2.6" for 40-90 2 5/8" when formed it comes out 2.615" a .01" short but grows a bit with extra firings. I use fireformed brass and just about never FL size again just squeeze the neck down. That brass 45-2 3/4" was made by Conneticut Cartridge Corporation of Planeville Conn. Now defunct? I use Norma 2.9" basic in mine it's the best. Bobw
