Why my hot Shiloh shoots high

my browning had vertical stringing but only after 8-9 shots (40-65). I took it as something was growing into something. I took the forearm off and placed 1 washer under the forearm screws and that worked. I have since put another under it, as I found that if I hold it offhand the barrel touches the wood again. I shot a mid-range match this past late july, (84deg) 300/600yd. I dropped 7pts the entire match, all at 600

Yup, I intended to do so at the match this past Sat., but forgot to take it out. I love that little Garmin.

I have a question for you guys.
I been looking at those little Garmins since my CED is done and I been looking getting a new unit that can be setup without having to shut the range down setting up. This Garmin has some pretty good reviews but how does it work shooting the BPCR with the smoke, wads and paper clearing the muzzle.
Have you had any problems with these three things?

I don’t own one of the Garmins, but tested one at Alliance had no problem with smoke or wads with grease groove loads.
Pretty impressive unit fast easy setup but not the range or easy data transfer as my lab radar. But in a match setting much easier to use.

The Garmin is a great unit. I tested one for about 6 months prior to the release and I have been very impressed. Even shooting on the line with multiple rifles it only picks up your rifle and it is not near as finicky on how it is aimed etc like my labradar. It take seconds to have it up and running. The updated App on your phone seems to work well.

Absolutely no problems with the Garmin when shooting BPCR with the smoke & wads. I only shoot greasers. After several months of use my experience is the same as Swagg’s. There are only two possible negatives: 1) It only detects muzzle velocity so cannot be used to determine BC’s like the Lab Radar. 2) Downloading data is only through the use of the cellphone app – cannot download via a USB port directly into a computer. Of course, one could download to the phone then transfer to a computer.

I used the CED Millennium 2 Chronograph System for several years, I used two when after I had a good load that I knew I could keep the shot through the screens at 200 yards LOL most of the time LOL and get some down range readings. They have a lot of storage. But like setting them up when the range is in use it's not ideal.

send Cliff G an email about the Garmin. talked him into one few weeks back. I dont think he has any issues. Its on my to-do list this next yr to get one.

A friend of mine uses one with his rifle that he always shoots paper patched bullets in. He says it works great and doesn't seem to pick up wads, paper, etc.

I bought one about 6mo ago. MUCH better than Lab Radar that I am no longer using. Garmin is very easy to set up, it’s not picky about picking up data. I use it during matches to gather info on my loads. Set it up by the cross sticks and it’s out of the way. It has never failed to pick up a shot. I have a friend with one and while in Ga. last month, we set them side by side and shot several rounds, they read identical. The only thing Lab Radar does that Garmin doesn’t is reading velocity drop out to 100 yds or so. I keep my Garmin in my shooting box so anyone who wants to a borrow it.
It is also very accurate and easy to use with 22’s also. It even picks ballistics on my pellet guns.
They say it will also work on bow and arrows and cross bows.
I really can’t find any fault with the Garmin
I also shoot paper patch with no issues…..

What mi interest in this unit is if I can set up a second one up a couple hundred feet down range like I did using y two CED Chronographs. I felt I got a very precise reading with them but the pickup concerts got hurt a couple times

I might call Garmin and ask them what triggers the unit, muzzle blast and if a weaker shockwave of a bullet passing down rangewil trigger it also.

I passed on the Lab Radar because of its limits for long range study. I see in the post guys having a 900 yard issue, well mine is on the 300 yard pigs. The Turkeys I find it easier to run 10 but if I get 4-5 pigs I feel like shouting and doing a high jump off the stool
