Maybe, maybe not.
As I am sure you noticed a brick of Remington 2 1/2 primers were retail $29.00 one week and a week later they were unobtainable then a few months later they were $129.00 a brick and at some locations they are today $89.00 a brick of 1,000. Local production of ammunition caused the shortage you said? Probably not. Take a read and reflect who, what, when, how ownership of such production has changed.

So, the key that I got out of this message beside the unfortunate sale was that the US Government decides on "Who" gets what ammo shipment when it is U.S. "Branded" or "Manufactured" ammo.

Remembering, for instance, Remington 2 1/2 primers went from 29 dollars a thousand to 129 dollars a thousand.
So read this excerpt: Years ago, Vista leadership decided to split the company, separating the ammo brands (which became The Kinetic Group) from the outdoors brands. According to Vista leadership, the split was necessary because a single holding company with all those brands would not be able to achieve the stock prices investors expected.
Translated, was the increase in price of primers related to affecting the profitability of stock prices to attract investors, ergo $100 dollars a thousand for primers? If you will recall, before the price skyrocketed supply became scarce and as reloaders needed primers to shoot the decrease in supply resulted in an increase in price until the stock price reached what investors desired.
There is something fishy about selling ownership of the ammunition producers to foreign entities. With the previous administration in the driver's seat anything could have taken place.

Is it possible "Vista" suppressed ammo and primer sales to raise prices, to put the,"icing on the cake," to garner more attention from CSG? Was it a ploy to jack up the selling price based upon the value of suppressed sales? Who suppressed the sales, "Dimwit Joe" Biden's handlers? Vista Outdoors, which I doubt. It was an interesting read but unfortunately, "It's water over the dam," and we simply need to move on.

Nothing I read gives me a warm feeling about the future of CSG's providing ammo & components to the NA market.
