Headin out in the moring for the 2006 Missouri Firearms deer season.

Sharps in my right hand.

Cross Sticks in my left.

Buck tag in my pocket,

Pack on my back.

Got him. A nice 9 point buck, Put the slip on him and nailed him at a wopping range of 25 yards. He went down real quick.

at 25 yards you probably killed him with the muzzle blast....Dean

Cograts Headhunter. Hunting whitetails on the ground must be pretty rare any more judging from the tv shows. Seems like most of those guys don't even know how to "hunt" ie; search for their quarry.

Thanks Pete,

I did a big stalk on a Doe this morning and made a great shot at 30 yards. She did the "Man from Snowy River" off the side of a bluff and landed in the creek. Heck of a drag on that one!

As for the T.V. show stuff. Those guys have it made. Everything is tax deductable including their trips. Everything pre scouted and all they have to do is set in a tree and wait for the big one to walk by.

The rest of us have to earn our deer.

BUT, it is their business and how they feed their family.
