45-70 Boolit weights [B/P only]

What bullet weights [mould maker, bullet number please] do you long range shooters like and use? My rifle is a Shiloh, Hartford 45-70 w/34" bbl. At this time, I am getting very good results with a Steve Brooks modfied "Postell" [ thicker base band,and narrower top ring] looks more like a "Creedmore" base with a "postell" nose. What about a Paul Jones 570gr. "Smerker AA"? Or is this getting to heavy for the 45-70 at long range{900-1000yds.}. Thanks for your time on this.

Been using the Paul Jones 45001 Creedmoor in my Shiloh 45-70 and a 45-90 CPA for the past few years with good results. Paul made a 45001 Creedmoor with the top driving band cut to .450 " for a match chambered 45-70 Meacham I've been shooting mostly this year. This combination has been working rather well. I use the 45-90 for the two long range matches we have at Quantico each year as I am not yet satisfied with the 45-70's performance yet. I haven't tried the .450" cut driving band 45001 in the Shiloh yet but think it will have good possibilities as the additional powder capacity may make it nearly as predictable as the 45-90. My bullets are cast @ 30:1 , sized at .459 " and lubed with SPG. Starline cases in the CPA and Meacham and WW in the Sharps. Bob

Sorry, didn't completely answer your question. The Paul Jones bullets I cast as above are all weighing 545grs. Bob
