Howdy I have a heavy barrel .54 and have never shot it past 200 yds. Anybody out there shot future. I live near
Winchester, Va and also would like to know if there are any ranges close by with a range of a 1000 yards.

The N-SSA range out at Fort Shenandoah off of State Route 522 at Gainesboro is limited to approximately 200 yards. If you are an N-SSA member, you can shoot out there anytime as long as you check with the Property Manager at the Fort first. I don't know what the rules for non-N-SSA members are.

Long range target matches for black powder arms are held at a club in Oak Ridge,Tennessee. You can Google that club up.
