Rifle weight requirements
I know there is a weight requirement for the silhouette matches....are there other matches that have a weight requirement such as the buffalo, gong and paper target matches???
#1 Sporter 45-70, semi-fancy wood, 30 inch barrel, shotgun butt with traditional steel butt plate. pewter tip. (buffler thumper)
Henry,
NRA silhouette, 12 lbs. 2 oz.
NRA target rifle, Mid-range and long range, 15 lbs
DCRA (Dominion of Canada Rifle Assc.), 15 lbs.
World Historical LR rifle, 13 lbs.
World Creedmoor Assc., 15 lbs
Most gong matches, (I could be wrong here) never heard of a weight limit.
If you need the specific Rule numbers, I can probably dig them up.
There are also specific rules regarding period ammunition, country of origin, type of propellant, use of duplex loads, etc...
Each match and organization can and does have specific differences. If you are going to have a rifle built, it's wise to check what the rules are for where you intend to compete. Frank M.

Just to let everyone know i tried to order the longrange bp rules last week
and was told they were back ordered and order was cancled, told to
try again at a later date. I did order the new for 2004 silhouette rules
and did recive them. There was some changes and the scope rules are
included also,as this is a new national event. As the NRA was out of the
longrange rule books , i was wondering if anyone can maby know of a
sight on the net that may post the rules for longrange BP national & inter-
national.I hope to hold a couple at our club this year.
