A "Take Down" Sharps"

Post by Texas Shooter »

To All:

Is there such a thing as a "Take Down" Sharps?

Thanks,

There is no historical precedence for a take down model that I am aware of and have never heard of a modern version either. It would be a pretty neat modification if you could find a machinist/gunsmith to make one for you.

The only reference about take downs I know of is the old buffalo hunters would "take down" their Sharps along the Arkansas and get themselves a stand!

I had gotten possession of a big "50" gun early in the fight, and was making considerable noise with it.

Sellers book makes referance of a '74 model altered in to a '77 by F.W. Freund for Theodore Roosevelt... pg.192

Kevin:

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I just missed it. Gee, an extra barrel in .405. That would be really cool.
