old ammo boxes

Post by Omak Cowboy »

Wonder of there are any folks out there who might know the approximate age of two boxes of ammo

One box is WINCHESTER, 38 S & W Smokeless with a burgandy colored top and sides.

The second box is dark blue with a white center label "
38 S & W Smokeless
Remington Armas Union Matallic Cartridge Company
UMC Bridgeport Works
262 Bridgeport Conn.

The underside of the box has a lable in white of the Guarantee both in English and Spanish.

These came to me, along with a .38 be from my banker whose father was a Purser on a shipline based here in Seattle. My guess is that the date is the 20s or 30s

You might try this link:

http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/Browse ... 1&Items=50

Query for the Brand names first, if you get too many hits, add some additional variables until the number of hits become manageable.

If you have trouble, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Take Care,
