In 19 days will be heading south once more to Phoenix for The Desert International Match.

Midrange
Longrange.
It will be a large time, if we can get out of Wyoming?

I'm going to expand my horizon.
On my way to the Desert International at Ben Avery, I'm going to stop at Oak Ridge TN to shoot my first long range muzzleloader match.

Google maps says it’s only 200 miles extra if I have to take the shortcut thru Dalhart and Tucemcari to get around the blizzards

Just a plain old Pedersoli 1865 Gibbs reproduction percussion rifle, 45 caliber. Kind of a bottom-of-the-line starter long range muzzle loader. I bought it used, and it turned out to have some issues which I have been working on rectifying. This will be the trial run at 1000 yards.
We'll see how it goes. Planning on going to the World Championship long range muzzle loader match in Hungary this fall.

Interesting. I have 1 of those rifles and have contemplated on going to the Oak Ridge match but the dates are always conflicting with other things. I’m well aware of the Hungary match. Keep me posted of your results with the Gibbs.

Paper patch 44-77, scope, and rifleman for me at the Desert International.
4 of us shooting rifleman. Should be a good time. Looking forward to seeing everybody there.

Sitting on the back patio drinking morning coffee about 30 miles south of the range. Supposed to be low 80s coming up for nearly a week - you will make it! Have faith in WYDOT - they will blaze a path through the snow for you.
Looking forward to seeing you guys down here and shooting the match.

WyDept dies do a great job but the west slope in colorado has been getting smacked hard as well

Getting close to launch time, winter still has considerable grip on Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. We are hopeful to thread the needle Friday and head Down to Phoenix. With a Saturday night or Sunday morning arrival.
