I've only had my farmingdale '63 for a couple of weeks The gas seal seems to work perfectly so far (unlike an Armisport I have). Ive read the Shiloh design
is the same as the original, and a lot of folks in this forum have claimed to shoot it with no problems. I wouldn't change anything if I did not have
trouble with the gun.

I agree with loophole. I have a Farmingdale '63 and have had no problem with it. Had one of the imports and after 7 or 8 shots it was very hard opening the action. I think those guns need the modification. It could also hurt the resale value of your rifle. If I were in the market for a Shiloh sporter, I'd prefer it to be factory original. Have you had any problems with it as is? Remember, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Good luck and good shooting.
