JAGG, I wasn't aware that compressing powder causes that much stress. Is the Rock Chucker tall enough for .45-110? The first rifle is .45-70, but once I'm used to it, I will get the Quigley of my dreams, and it'd have to be a .45-110. What about the Lee or Lyman single-stagers?

I freely admit I know little or nothing of blackpowder loading, and am reading up before buying any equipment, and any info from your guys that have been doing this is much appreciated.

I have found the inexpensive Lyman Accupress ($30.75 from Buffalo Arms) to work quite well as a powder compressing press. They also are handy for mounting my .45 calibre and .50 calibre press mounted wad punches. I have a couple of the Accupresses. And they don't take up much space on my bench either.

Just a thought.
