Hello Shooters,
The first BPCR match of 2017 is in the books. Congratulations to Brian Chilson, match winner with a score of 33. Dave Heeter took 2nd Open with a 32, and John Sweka was 3rd Open with a 25. (Note that Shaun Latham also scored a 25, with chickens as the tiebreaker.) In Scope, Brian Chilson was on top with a 33, followed by Greg Lauver with 23 and Lester Henry at 22. See below for complete results.
We had a total of 23 shooters and 25 rifles, which is a typical turnout for April, but unusual in that several of the "usual suspects" were unable to attend and instead we added 3 brand new shooters to our ranks along with some returning newcomers from last year. It's been fun helping people learn and watching them improve. On that note, congratulations to Brian Wakefield for up-classifying to A.
It was a gorgeous day. The previous day's practice had been cloudy and chilly, but we enjoyed a day of blue skies and warm sunshine. Winds were light and variable but mirage was definitely a challenge, especially at the ram line, which can be seen in the lack of 5- and 10-pins.
As always, thank you to everyone who helped with the match, from range work to administrative help to emptying the trash. A special thanks to those who coached the new shooters. We couldn't do it without you!
Hope to see you all at our next match on May 28!
Sincerely,
Craig Duncan
