Re: deer season
Did the tune up... I just don't like my MVA short Winchester type telescope. It's going to have to do until after hunting season. Don't like the target mount or the moving tube in general for hunting. I've given it a couple years of limited shooting but.... Going to another brand and mount as soon as I can.

Why didn't you say this last Friday I would have taken it off your hands! I just ordered one for the silhouette rifle but I got the #2 rear mount.
A thought.....how about using a return spring to keep the scope in battery like the target scopes?

I put a Leatherwod 6x short scope on my .40-50 and it works great. The stock mounts work well for a hunting gun if you lock the scope down. A big plus is this scope is sealed and nitrogen purged.
Real gun powder is black.

All I could get at the time was the target mounts. I'll have to look at to see if a spring would work. It's still going to be on the table next Q!!!Kurt wrote:Why didn't you say this last Friday I would have taken it off your hands! Well, I cleaned the gene pool. A small basket 4X4 walked by while I was having coffee. The 45-90 using the same load I shot a buffalo with did the job. 130 yds standing off of a mono pod.
Sorry, I don't have a photo site to put up a photo here.
