Literature says there are 28 minutes of windage adjustment on the sight but there are 10 graduations left and right of center. I count that as 21. What am I missing?

I've never bothered to measure, but I assure you there is far more than enough for hunting or casual target shooting.

A competition sight the 108 is not.

One graduation is 2 minutes.

Actually, they are only 2 approximate MOAs, and then, only if the sight radius is 36". We shooters use a lot of approximations and inaccurate vocabulary. That can begin to bite when the distances get long. Back in the 1990s we often used the term "points" of windage or elevation where we precisely, but inaccurately, use MOAs today.

Okay, that's enough. Time to get back to fencing.

Point taken. But you probably meant if the distance between front and rear sights is approximately 34.37746819 inches.....

If the distance between front and rear sights is 36 inches, then one graduation will result in 2 inches at 100 yards, or approximately 1.909859 minutes.

Thanks for the accuracy improvement. You can see why i can't hit the backstop any more.

Called MVA which is what I should have done in the first place. Their answer was there is 28 minutes of adjustment but the sight is not marked to that level. Was told to estimate the missing 4 MOA either side of the graduations.

Also, on an MVA Soule sight, each line on the base indicates one full turn of the drum, or 0.025" which is about 2.5 minutes depending on barrel length.

If the wind is so bad that you have to go into the weeds on your sight, You probably should just go home anyway. At least that's what I would probably do. In all my years of hunting and casual target shooting with my several 108s, I've never needed to go there.

Have you ever noticed that the horizontal scale and the drama scale on the MVA Soules do not correspond?

It takes 5 Revolutions of the drum to move a full 0.100 inches horizontally. Each mark on the drum is 1 25th of a tenth of an inch.

Brent I just dug 3 of my rifles out of the safe. One with a long range "Buffalo" Soule, one midrange Soule, and one standard long range Soule and they all work exactly as I expect. i.e. one full turn of the drum is exactly one mark on the horizontal scale. I ran each of them 5 full turns to make sure there wasn't any sort of cumulative error. Mine seem to be exact.

This is the same for our MVA, Buff L/R and the std L/R.
1 full dial turn=1 hor hash-mark at the bottom of the staff.
Also-The marks line up perfectly on both.........
