for the second month in a row Carol Scott dominated the range, shooting 41 x 60 tied with her spotter Joe. Carol had higher turkey count
and was declared the winner.
a close third was Ed Hager from Trinidad co. shot 40x60 out of AA class, Glenn Ring with his coach Jeannie escaped the okla. heat to come shoot
with us, Glenn was fourth with a 38.
high chicken count was Justin Beard with 6 while shooting his personal best 37x60 out of A class, probably on his way up.

weather was undoubtably the very best this summer, slightly overcast, cool with a mild tailwind all day.

Sept. 14 will be the last match this year. plenty of room for a few more competitors.

Yeah, anyone that shoots 6 chickens, can't be long for A class.

Congratulations to everyone and especially Carol. Sounds like you guys are having some good matches down there again.

Glenn and I had a great time at a great match! We would be back in September, but have our BPCR Regional in Oklahoma that weekend.

We plan to attend next year!

Thanks,

Jeanne

Thank you very much for putting on this match.
Jeanne and I plan on having more free time next year to come to Raton and we hope you'll continue having these matches.

nra whittington center monthly match, a monthly match, usually a small number of shooters now days.
we use one of the finest ranges in the country but are not near a population center so almost everybody
has to travel quite a distance.
usually on the next day there is a 22 bpcr match so more bang for the trip.

for info contact hueyw@comcast.net.

hueyw,

Thanks for the clarification. I'm very familiar with the NRA Whittington Center having shot in the big bore silhouette & .22BPCRA nationals for several years.

So what is your name? I'd like to put a name with a "handle".

usually in may, don't schedule when weather can still be unpredictable. shoot 2nd saturdays if range is available.
check whittington calender for exact dates.

That's the truth. It's well worth a trip down to make use of the various ranges and shoot the matches with Glenda and Hugh. Makes for a very fine mini vacation.

Are all 15 animals shot in a row or is there a reset in there?

we assign a shooter 3 bays, shoot three stages with a slight break between them. then go reset targets. no setters, set what you shot.
entry covers range fee, $15.00, awards are bragging rights. you pick a spot to shoot from and can do everything but chickens from there.
